Adatepe Village Urban Protected Area

It was founded in the 15th century after the Karesi principality conquered the region. It is approximately 300 meters above sea level and the houses are positioned on both slopes of a valley, generally facing south, facing the village square. Until the population exchange, Greeks and Turks lived together. Since it is on the road from Bayramiç to the sea, the Turkish population of the village were generally wealthy families coming from Bayramiç.
The village was declared a protected area in 1989. Demolition and reconstruction of old houses is subject to the permission of the conservation board, and new construction is not allowed.
