The Tevfik Bey Azakoğlu Mansion, or as it is known today, the Alanya Atatürk House, is a historic Azakzade family mansion dating to the Second Constitutional Era (1908–1918), although its exact construction date is unknown. The Azakzade/Azakoğlu family was one of Alanya’s leading lumber merchant families during the late Ottoman period. After the death of the family patriarch, Hüseyin Efendi, in 1908, his sons Tevfik, Necip, İzzet, and Şevki Bey continued the lumber trade together.
The mansion was built as a residence by Tevfik Bey, one of these four brothers. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was a guest in this house for a time during his visit to Alanya on February 18, 1935.
After Tevfik Bey’s death, the building was donated to the Ministry of Culture by Rıfat Azakoğlu; it was restored and opened to the public as the Alanya Atatürk House Museum on April 30, 1987. The mansion was restored again in 2023–2024 and reopened to the public on May 19, 2024. Today, it serves as the Alanya Atatürk House Museum.
