The Bağdadlı Mosque is located in the Kazancı neighborhood, behind the Ziraat Bank.
The mosque was commissioned in 1581 by a philanthropist known by the nickname “Bağdadlı.” Due to significant deterioration over time, the original building was demolished and the mosque as it stands today was rebuilt. According to oral accounts, the original structure was a significant work of art, particularly notable for its stonework and intricate wood carvings. It is also known that ornate stones dating back to the Byzantine period were used in its walls.Unfortunately, these historical and artistic elements could not be preserved during the reconstruction process, and the valuable architectural features of the original structure have not survived to the present day. While the mosque, which is currently open for worship, retains its importance due to its location and historical background, it does not reflect the characteristic architectural features of the old structure.
