It is believed to have been built in the 16th century. It underwent major repairs in H. 1331 / M. 1915. During World War I, the mosque’s minaret was rebuilt by Mustafa Mashar Bey, the head of the Military Recruitment Office at the time. It is reported that a minaret built by the family of Hacı İzzet Pasha once stood on the site of the current minaret.1
