It is written in the sources that the construction started when Fatih Sultan Mehmet came to Şebinkarahisar after winning the Otlukbeli War on August 29, 1473 and was completed in five years. It is stated that the mosque was first made of wood, burned twice and was renovated with stone material after these fires. Sources record that today's Fatih Mosque was built by Rasih and Mahmut Pashas in 1888. The domes of the mosque that collapsed in the 1939 earthquake were repaired in 1950 and the structure underwent a minor repair in 1977. The structure, located on a high terrace and in a large courtyard, was built in a longitudinal rectangular plan (17.70 X 269,60 meters) in the north-south direction. The structure, which was built entirely of regular cut stone material, was plastered and painted from the inside. The three-bay narthex, which is located on the north facade of the mosque and sits on two monolithic stone columns in the middle, is currently covered with glass. 1
