It serves as the Kyrenia Icon Museum. Built as an Orthodox Christian place of worship, this structure has been preserved and transformed into a museum showcasing icons. Built in the mid-19th century, the historic church building was abandoned in 1974. The building was restored by the authorities of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and opened to the public as a museum in 1990.
