It is a single-faced fountain built by Vizier Güzelce Mahmud Pasha (d. 1606) in 1605. It is also known as the Mısırlı Osman Ağa Fountain due to the repair inscription dated 1031 (1622) placed on its left side, belonging to Mısrî Osman Ağa, one of the Bâbüssaâde Ağas of the reign of Osman II.
Preliminary Inscription;
Because Sultan Ahmed ascended to the state
The sun-lit sun has poured light on this world's population
In the turmoil of the state of that city of sea and sea
He made a servant to build this fountain by his command
If you ask, "Who is responsible for this?", then be your servant.
The Sultan's foot soil Mahmud Pasha
While I was stuck in the sea of sorrow, I was full of determination
My mother became a supporter, Khidr and the shadow of God
He will remove it from the truth and redeem it.
For the sake of truth, even he vowed to build a fountain
He built this fountain in due time, keeping his promise
Those who drink water pray to the Sultan.
The nightingale saw that history had come true
Mahmud Pasha built this fountain for the sake of God.
Construction – 1014
Tamiri – 19 Safar 1172
Side Inscription;
During the reign of Khan Osman
Many ruins have become of the city
Osman Aga from Egypt, too, by God
This mirror released the water of goodness into the open
Enough of the verses, let it be a pleasant history
What a shame, what a place to be in a river
