Fatih Sultan Mehmet's fountain was built by Kıllı Yusuf Ağa from Ni'me'l-ceyş in the 15th century. Sources state that this mosque was built where Fatih performed his daily prayers when he entered the city walls on the day of the conquest of Istanbul and that he later performed his morning prayers here. The mosque, which fell into disrepair over time, was rebuilt in 1975 by the Foundations Administration with a square plan, wooden roof and rubble stones.
