The Hasan Bey Hamam is a 17th-century structure located in the Hasanbey neighborhood of Mudanya. It consists of two large rooms with a square floor plan and additional rooms that support them. It is also known as the “Upper Hamam” or “Old Hamam.” It is believed to have been commissioned by Hasan Pasha, the Mirliva of Egypt. Today, it serves as a library and cultural center.
It was designated to provide revenue for the mosque built by Hasan Pasha, the Mirliva of Egypt, and other endowment expenses, located right nearby. The bathhouse, which had fallen into disuse over time and was subsequently used as a warehouse and carpenter’s shop, was left neglected for a long period before being restored with the support of businessman Agah Bursalı. The restoration was completed in 2016. In 2022, the Mudanya Municipality converted it into a cultural center.
