The tomb is located on the hill named after him in the lodge he founded in Elmalık Village, 13 km west of Bolu city center and 4 km north of Abant Junction. The gravestones are made of marble and newly built. In the area where the tomb is located, there is a cemetery, a mosque, a lodge that is still active, a soup kitchen where food is distributed every day, and a picnic area covered with centuries-old trees of all kinds in the forest area.

Hayreddin Tokadî Efendi is one of the famous sheikhs of the Halvetiye order. Since there is not enough information about his life, it is not possible to find information about where and when he was born. The years 1524, 1530 and 1535 are mentioned as his death date. The date 1535 is also written on the grave in his tomb.

It is recorded in the sources that he was from Konrapa (a place between Düzce and Bolu) and that he was active in Bolu. It is understood that the reason why Hayreddin Efendi is shown as from Tokat is because he was confused with another Halveti sheikh of the same name. Tokatlı Hayreddin Efendi (d. 1609) became a disciple of one of Konrapalı Hayreddin Efendi's caliphs, Kastamonu Şâban Efendi (Şeyh Şaban-ı Veli, d. 1539) in his youth, and died in Bursa and was buried there. (Konrapalı Hayreddin Efendi, known as Hayreddin Tokadî-EM), died in 1530 and was buried in this place.

Hayreddin Efendi was trained by Cemal-i Halveti, known as Celebi Halife, the patriarch of Cemal-i Halveti, one of the four main branches of the Halveti order. It is stated that when his patriarch Sunbul Sinan Efendi took up a post at the Koca Mustafa Pasha Lodge in Istanbul after Cemal-i Halveti, Hayreddin Efendi served at the lodge for a while.

He was then sent to Bolu. The information that he was a disciple of Kasım Çelebi before Çelebi Khalifa and that he also worked as a teacher at the Muradiye Madrasa in Bursa is again due to him being confused with the other Hayreddin Efendi. Hayreddin Efendi, who continued his guidance activities in Bolu and Düzce Pazar, was the mentor of Şâbân-ı Velî, the founder of the Halvetiyye-Şâbâniyye. He also trained caliphs such as Muslihuddin-i Konrapavi and Mahmud-ı Kürevi. (Source: Encyclopedia of Islam – Hayreddin Tokadî)
