Ceramic shards collected from the mound during surface surveys indicate that the site was inhabited during two significant periods throughout history: the Early Bronze Age (3000–2000 BCE) and the Hellenistic Period (330 BCE–30 CE).

The mound is currently protected as a registered cultural asset. Unfortunately, it has suffered damage over time due to both road construction and illegal excavations. It is registered in the inventory of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism as the “Karapınar Çiftliği Mound” and is listed as a first-degree archaeological site.
