Kisarna Palace is a complex consisting of a palace and its outbuildings, likely built in the mid-15th century, referred to in records as “Kitharaina,” and located in the Bengisu Neighborhood. Records indicate that in 1432, during the reign of King John IV Komnenos, a large tract of land encompassing four entire villages was acquired here, and construction activities were carried out in the area. Although the palace’s connection to these development activities is not known for certain, it is believed that the structure may have been built in the mid-15th century.

It is said that the palace and its outbuildings were later used as a summer palace by Sultan Selim I, though no direct record confirming this has yet been found. Jean-Baptiste Eugène Napoléon Flandin, an Orientalist, archaeologist, painter, and politician, created an engraving of Kisarna Palace in 1838.
