There is an inscription above the entrance door on the west facade of the Church of Michael the Archistrategos. The eight-line marble inscription states that the church, dedicated to Archistrategos Michael, was built in September 1843 during the tenure of Panierotatos Losesph, Metropolitan of Nicaea. Furthermore, S. Gerlach, who visited Ulubat in the sixteenth century, lists the names of the six churches present there, one of which is the church dedicated to Saint Michael.
