It is a small mosque located in front of the mansions in İstinye, towards Yeniköy.
Its benefactor is El-Hac Osman b. Abdullah. He was one of the sea leaders and had a school near him. He is also buried nearby. The date of his tombstone is: 1055 (1645). It also has a neighborhood.1
The mosque has undergone many repairs and was rebuilt by Ahmed Afif Pasha in 1321/1903-04, which can be seen above the door of the harim. It has a square plan, a wooden roof with a glass entrance and wide eaves. The interior of the mosque is decorated with hand-drawn works that look like tiles. On the right side of the building is a small minaret made of solid brick.2
Ahmet Afif Pasha had Alexandre Vallaury repair the old mosque in a new, eclectic style.
