Şeytanın Kahvesi is a coffeehouse located in a stone building in Ayvalık that was constructed in 1865. It takes its name from the nickname of its first owner, who was known as “Şeytan Halil” due to his lively and mischievous personality in the neighborhood. It has been run by the same family since 1950.
Once located in the Greek quarter, the building was used1 for various purposes over the years. Today, this historic venue is2 kept alive by third-generation family members (Suat Kaçak and his family). Preserving a nostalgic atmosphere amid Ayvalık’s cobblestone streets, the café is3 a favorite spot for both tourists and locals, offering black mulberry juice, a variety of coffees, and local delicacies. Films such as Erdal Özyağcılar’s *İki Yaka Bir İsmail*, Uğur Yücel’s *Familya*, and Şerif Gören’s *Ay Büyürken Uyuyamam* were filmed4 here.
