It takes its name, Zoodokou Pige—meaning “life-giving spring”—from the spring located to its northwest. The structure, which was used by the Greek community until the population exchange of 1924, later fell into ruins.1
The church features a rectangular plan with a single nave, oriented east-west. The main entrance is located on the west wall, while the east wall features an apse with rounded edges on both the interior and exterior.
Located within a forest area today, this historic church is completely neglected. From time to time, it has served as a site for treasure hunters searching for gold. The south wall has collapsed, the roof has caved in, and the structure has turned into an abandoned ruin. 2
