1) Tombstone of Ebubekir Ağa, Clerk of Bostancı
Ebubekir Efendi, Clerk of Bostaniyan, Nağan
He remained in exile, having renounced the world
Hearing the gentle call of God, his soul took flight
It soared to the heavenly palace, and I was there at once
May God Almighty forgive his sins and grant him mercy
And grant him his reward through His grace in the Garden of the World
Two men came and announced his passing, stating the date of his death
And found that the soul of this Bekir Efendi had found its place in Paradise

Son of Judge Sherif Efendi, grant me relief.
Seyyid Ibrahim Edhem, a man of natural gentleness and forbearance, beloved by the people
He was a devout man. A scholar who embarked on the path of the wise with the aid of truth
The Generous Lord received him as a martyr at the desired qibla.
With ablution and the declaration of the Oneness of God, he set out with the resolve to reach the Merciful. His state
spurred him to action, and he wrote this verse under the pen name “Kalem”
At that very moment, Hilmi Hamit’s time was complete; behold, Ibrahim Ethem
reached the end of his life. Raising both hands, I said longingly,
“The soul of Ibrahim Efendi has reached Paradise,”
