Most of the dovecotes in Gesi date back to the 19th century. The Gesi dovecotes are stone structures known as “tower-type” dovecotes. Found exclusively in the Gesi vineyards, these structures represent a unique architectural style. One of their most striking features is the underground chamber, which is not found anywhere else in Turkey.
